Swanzey Recycling Center Job Openings

The Town of Swanzey, NH is accepting applications for both full and part time positions at its freshly renovated Recycling Center. The full-time positions offer a competitive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement account match and have a regular schedule matching the Center’s open hours: Tuesdays and Fridays – 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays – 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For all positions NHDES Solid Waste Operator’s certifications are ideal and strong people skills and ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, turning, reaching, and squatting required.

  • Full-time Assistant Solid Waste Manager with starting hourly wage $20 - $24 depending on qualifications and experience. The Assistant Manager supports the Solid Waste Manager in overseeing operations of the Recycling Center and participates in the management, operation, and processing of recyclables at the facility. Desired skills and experience include NHDES Solid Waste Operator’s Certification, knowledge of municipal solid waste and recycling management issues, good mechanical aptitude and “trouble shooting” skills, and experience operating mechanical / motorized equipment used in solid waste operations.
  • Full-time Solid Waste Operator with starting hourly wage $13 - $15 depending on qualifications and experience. The Full-time Operator will work with other employees to assist customers at the facility and process recyclables.
  • Part Time Solid Waste Operator with starting wage $13 - $15 depending on qualifications and experience.
