We Need to Think About Clothing Differently

Our clothing, shoe and other textile waste that ends up in landfills has increased 300% since 1990- and it's not getting any better. In fact, it's getting worse. With "fast fashion" becoming the new way for retail giants to increase profits and manufacturing of our clothing being sent to developing countries, we need to change the way we think about our clothing. It's no longer whether we should donate or recycle our clothing, it's how.

Join the Northeast Resource Recovery Association, your recycling nonprofit, for this webinar to discuss these issues. A serial entrepreneur and recognized as the Union Leader's 40 under 40, Joe Whitten is the founder and CEO of Apparel Impact - New England's fastest growing textile recovery and recycling company with customers ranging from Easterseals, Mobil and hundreds of schools, towns and businesses. Joe is also a prolific entrepreneur.

This webinar is available for both NRRA members and nonmembers. The following audiences are encouraged to participate: municipal recycling and transfer station staff, solid waste operators, public works staff, state and local government officials and staff, educators and community members. New Hampshire solid waste operators will receive one hour of continuing education credit for participating.
