b'MESSAGE FROM OUREXECUTIVE DIRECTORNRRA 2020 Annual ReportFounded forty years ago, the Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA) is a recycling and resource recovery nonprofit.We provide cooperative marketing of recyclables and technical assistance and education to enable municipalities to manage their own recycling programs and reduce their waste.Our members include over 450 municipalities, businesses, and individuals throughout New England.We would like to thank our members, vendors, and supporters for helping NRRA advance our mission of partnering to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions.2020 was a challenging year for us all.When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March, NRRA staff quickly pivoted our efforts to continue supporting our members.Some of our notable achievements and services from 2020 include:March: Created a new email listserv for our municipal members to easily share information with each other remotely.April: Held a hugely popular free webinar on Best Management Practices for Recycling Facilities During COVID-19 featuring Dr. Locwin, an expert in infectious disease epidemiology.Over 300 people attended live and nearly 300 more watched the free recording on our website. We held a second webinar with Dr. Locwin in December.May: NRRA Executive Director Reagan Bissonnette wrote an op-ed Solid Waste Operators are More Than EssentialThey are Quiet Heroes, which was published in the Concord Monitor and Union Leader. June: Launched our new website www.nrrarecycles.org, which includes a robust Resource Librarywith recorded webinars and articles, plus a new Load Request Form for our members to submit cooperative marketing requests.July: Redesigned our Full of Scrap email newsletter and began issuing it more frequently to enable us to share timely information with our members.[Continues on page 4]Reagan BissonnetteNRRAExecutive Director2020 ANNUAL REPORT 3'
