Assistant Solid Waste Manager

Lancaster, NH Transfer Station

Full-Time, Year-Round

Position open December 1, 2022


The Assistant Solid Waste Manager shall work under the direct supervision of the Solid Waste Manager
and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Town's Transfer Station. They will
work closely with the Solid Waste Manager to ensure the Transfer Station is compliant with all relevant
permits and regulations. They will provide supervision to the facility's part-time staff and assist the
public in the separation of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris,
Tires, Burnable items and recyclables. In the absence of the Solid Waste Manager they will be
responsible for the management duties of the facility. All duties to be performed in accordance with
established policies and procedures.


The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Exceptional communication
skills are a must as this position requires extensive interaction with the public. Previous managerial and
supervision experience is preferred. Current NH DES Solid Waste Facility "Principal Operator"
Certification or ability to receive within 6 months of hire required.


This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits including Health Insurance, Life & Disability Insurance
and NH Retirement. Compensation based on education and experience with a general range of$17.00
to $20.00 per hour.
